This is an easy hike to two pretty, not-very-popular lakes. A good choice for a kids backpack.
This hike is not in the Wilderness. The area is criss-crossed with logging roads, and there are some clearcuts. Be sure to bring a good map. The hike itself is not very scenic, but it’s also not very hard, and the lakes are pretty.
From Anaconda drive 10 miles west on Montana Highway 1 to Spring Hill. Turn south on Twin Lakes Creek Road (FR 5131) and go about 3 miles. Turn left on FR 171 and continue about 0.5 mile to the national forest boundary.
