This may be my favorite day hike in the Pintlers. It has everything - lake, views, alpine meadows.
You start at Storm Lake, which is a spectacular destination in and of itself. But, since you can drive here, you won’t have it to yourself. Start the hike by crossing the dam, then follow the trail around the lake. Once you get to the far side of the lake, the trail climbs, and the views just get better and better. Not long after crossing the pass, you can see Goat Flat. If you like alpine scenery, it doesn’t get any better than this. You can continue on to Upper Seymour Lake or connect to the trail to Flower Lake and Page Lake.
Take Storm Lake Road from Hwy 1 (West/North of Anaconda). The road dead ends at the Storm Lake dam which is also the trailhead. The last 1-2 miles of the road is pretty rough.
